This project focuses on modularity for workout headphones.
Music is one of the key components of an motivating gym workout. However, current models of headphones and earbuds can't keep up, falling off or causing discomfort due to sweat, weight, and subpar sound quality.
To tackle these challenges, I focuses on three main design requirements:
1. Designing ear cups that improve sound isolation &accommodate a range of ear shapes.
2. Designing a lightweight headband that balance comfort with durability and grip.
3. Providing users with modular options for easy cleaning of the ear cups for hygiene.

My solution integrates buckle mechanisms to allow for customisation of headbands for different functionality (including slippage prevention), moisture-wicking fabrics to keep areas that contact the skin dry and comfortable, and a thermoelectric cooling system to actively reduces heat around the ears.
modio simple was kept as an aesthetic choice and features your everyday headband

As for tech, Modio uses the same components as in regular headphones with an exception to the buckle mechanism and the thermo-electric cooler.
As for control, embossed buttons have been designed for ease of navigation as well as a slider for the volume. generative design was used for the workout headband was with the Voronoi tool in grasshopper being used.
Finally, an app was designed to provide a streamlines platform that details the headphones features.
